CALIFORNIA — Cinco de Mayo celebrations likely will be different this year, given shelter-in-place orders throughout California. But that doesn’t mean you can’t break out the margarita glasses and throw a fiesta at home.

Restaurants up and down the Golden State are getting creative with such offerings as DIY dinner kits and easy-to-go menu options for pick up and delivery, some with adult beverages included.

ACAPULCO: You choose: DIY taco or fajita dinner kits. Sombreros are included, while supplies last. A $50 Fiesta Taco Kit includes a pitcher of margaritas, plus a choice of two: ground beef, shredded beef, or chicken, along with tortillas, rice, refried or charro beans, cheese, chips, and salsa, plus other taco toppings.

The Fiesta Fajita Kit, with margaritas, is $60 and offers a choice of chicken or steak, plus grilled veggies, tortillas, guacamole, rice, beans, chips, salsa, and a sweet corn cake. Upgrade your marks to the Cadillac edition for another $5.

AZULE TAQUERIA: Bring your beer growler and have it filled straight from the tap on the SocialEats draft beer wall for $.20/oz. And then don’t forget it’s Cinco de Mayo, and add in $25 taco boxes, filled with 10 tacos of choice, $40 build-your-own taco kits with 24 tortillas and toppings, and $30 burrito boxes stuffed with four burritos. BLAZE PIZZA: If you don’t care for Mexican food, how about pizza? On Cinco de Mayo, the pizza chain will offer “5X flames” (reward points) to Blaze Rewards members. It’s one flame for each dollar spent, and flames kick in at 30 for a free dessert or drink, with a free pizza unlocked at 120 flames. Blaze also is offering free delivery on all orders of $15 or more through the website and app.

CALIFORNIA PIZZA KITCHEN: Get your party started with CPK’s Specialty Taco Kit and a pitcher of agave lime margaritas made with Milagro Silver Tequila. The limited-time package serves four and includes cilantro, limes, tomatoes, serrano peppers, onion, vegetarian black beans, cheese, tortillas, and a choice of flap steak, Mahi/ono, or chicken. Cost ranges from $15 – $24 depending on meat selection. A pitcher of margs is $35, or $32 when purchased with the Taco Kit.

CHEVYS FRESH MEX: Order family-sized fajita or taco kits to go — margaritas included — from Chevys.
